Brand authenticity exemplified Ben & Jerry's. Building and retaining brand authenticity is difficult especially after acquisition by new owners. After their deal Ben & Jerry's kept an independent board of directors. "We're a wholly owned subsidiary [of Unilever], but (20 years later) we still act according to Ben & Jerry's mission, vision and values," a spokesperson told CNN Business.
