Tesco’s price match campaign vs Aldi is helping which business the most?
The supermarket’s repeated value benchmarking of Aldi in a cost of living crisis may well be a ‘marketing case study in years to come’
Whether the two biggest supermarket players directly calling Aldi out as a price benchmark will eventually be successful is tbd but in the last period records showed £63m of business had left Tesco for Aldi!
The Aldi name checking may even working against Aldi’s low cost rival Lidl as £6m of business left there for Aldi
I suggest Tesco marketing department might like to review their strategy on this one ?!
